41 022 fans made it out to the Heritage Classic today. It was bitter cold but somehow Kiersti and I managed to stay warm (or pretty warm considering) throughout the entire game.

Boots, two pairs of socks, three pairs of pants, snow pants, two thermal layers, a sweater, a vest, windbreaker, down jacket, jersey,  scarf, toque, sleeping bag, hand warmers, and two blankets. It was a lot of stuff to carry but boy did it make for one toasty warm experience.

As a proud Canadian and a huge hockey fan, I found this to be an experience that I couldn’t miss. It almost gave me the same feeling as being back at the 2010 Olympics (that feeling is pretty hard to beat!). This was the kind of hockey that you are willing to fight the elements that Mother Nature throws our way to watch. Big thanks to Justin for allowing Kiersti and I to be there in person rather than watching it on TV and for allowing us to show Section N Row 36 that we are tougher than all of them when it comes to the weather!

This was a game I’ll remember the rest of my life. Why?! Because it was a classic..
