I took a walk on Elbow Dr today and stumbled upon this kaleidoscope. Interesting idea.

Vancouver Abby and Calgary Abby finally meet up. This time for good.
Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a 365 project of my dog!

The best helper there is. The best at distracting me from unpacking that is. We had a good time today but there wasn’t much progress in the garage clean up.

People are probably sick of all of the moving pictures. Thankfully we stopped off at a garden centre on the way out to help calm my emotions and get my picture of the day.
One long drive back to Calgary. Left at 11:30am made it back to DouglasGlen by 11:30pm.

A portion of the dream team that helped me move home. Thank you everyone who made the process that much easier!

This is exactly why I love every single one of these people. We all ran around the couch and then flew into a position right before the camera went off. Kara got smoked in the head by both Kaylees (see what I did there?) and this is the result. Amazing.
L to R: Karina, Alvin, Carllee, Me, Kailee, Kara, Stella
At UBC I’ve met the most amazing people (these are just a few of them) and I’m sad to walk away from this life that I’ve created here.
Karina: One of the first people I met at UBC getting off the 41 and walking to Apple Fest for one of our first volunteer experiences ever. Little did we know we would spend the next 4 years spending countless hours working for free. You’ve been here from the start and have been such an inspiration to me. From volunteering, swimming, running, yoga, walking, painting, and mojito nights, thank you, it’s helped me more than you know!
Alvin: One of my only guy friends in Vancouver. Your energy and enthusiasm is contagious. I knew volunteering on the management team for Agora that we needed to be friends. You’ve been a sounding board for me over the years and listened to me when even I knew I was being ridiculous. From Agora, to the Olympics, zip lining, camping, MJ dance parties, HIMYM marathons, and adventures around Vancouver – it’s been awesome.
Carllee: The Mother Theresa of the group. I’ve always felt so comfortable talking to you about anything even though I’ve only known you for a year. Your calm demeanour and compassion will keep inspiring me to become a better person and continue to give back to my community. From our first lunch date at the UBC hospital, to sharing GF recipes, Halloween party, Back to School party, and the DCC, I can’t believe I didn’t meet you earlier!
Kailee: I remember my first encounter with you was you trying to teach me some knife skills at Agora. I was a little intimidated to say the least and never thought that we would share so many laughs. Thank you for having such a contagious laugh and making every moment with you an absolute blast. I’ll keep you almost fainting during storm the wall, patty cake, hiking, twister party, K2 and K0, and the best ‘hey Kaylee’ anyone could ever ask for in my little memory book.
Kara: My other half, the person that gets me the most, my wife, and the best baker I know. You have been such an amazing friend to me over the past year and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to manage without you and Ella. You’ve invited me into your life and I’ll be forever thankful that we’ve shared so many memories together this year! Many many Skype dates with Ella will probably be needed (especially after she gets a haircut).
Stella: The newest addition to my life but it seems like I’ve know you forever. I’m so glad that we became friends this semester although I feel like it just hasn’t been long enough (selfish I know). You, my friend, are going to do amazing things with your life and I’m excited to be able to share them with you even from a distance. I will meet you on May 31 at 4pm for our walk across the stage together!

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment” – anon
I’m lucky my friends let me be exactly who I want to be. Thank you. I couldn’t ask for more ‘awesome’ in my life.

To my home for the past four years, Happy 125th Birthday Vancouver. I now know why people love living in this city so much.
As a birthday gift to everyone in Vancouver, Mother Nature gave us sun. There was enough to give me a sunburn on our half marathon plus a few celebratory laps (ie. 29 kms). Thank you Carolyn for pushing me through it, I couldn’t have done it without you.

This is what I spent the last three days working on; my last project of my undergrad. Wow, I never thought I would say that..
This is how I felt after finishing it. Pretty, pretty, good. I would be more enthusiastic but it’s been a long day staring at the computer screen.

Today I went downtown determined to use my fixed 50mm lens the entire time. I stumbled upon the original ‘W’ downtown. It represents the Woodward district downtown – the original W is much more beautiful than the new one.

Although I wasn’t able to participate in the Storm the Wall finals for unforeseen reasons , we ended up with a threepeat! I was replaced with another Kayley (spelt Kaley) and she did an amazing job fitting right in with our team!
I’ll always remember the 12 ft wall as one of my favourite memories at UBC.
